ISO is a Verisk business, and we at ISO Community Hazard Mitigation believe very strongly in delivering Verisk’s core values: Serve. Add Value. Innovate. One of the most significant ways in which we do that is to partner with communities throughout the United States to help make them safer.
ISO knows that prevention goes a long way toward achieving the shared goal of creating safer communities. The more people who understand how our programs work, what their benefits are, and the value of making improvements, the more lives and property we can help save. Our mitigation staff visits thousands of communities every year to conduct classes and train fire departments, municipalities, and residents.
In 2017, our mitigation staff worked exceptionally hard to conduct these community outreach programs. Our team consists of specialists and experts in our Public Protection Classification (PPC®), Building Code Effectiveness Grading Schedule (BCEGS®), and Community Rating System (CSR) programs. They conducted classes, conference presentations, one-on-one meetings, public presentations, online conferences, and 10,200-plus site visits in 45 states. We held more than 150 classes in every ISO state; additional classes were provided at 34 conferences.
Our people stand ready to share their knowledge and experience and work with communities to increase safety and fire prevention awareness. For more information, visit www.isomitigation.com or contact me, Tom Weber, national director of Community Hazard Mitigation, at TWeber@verisk.com.
